Seven Hours After Violet, the new band led by System of a Down bassist, Shavo Odadjian, will release its self-titled debut album on Oct. 11, 2024, through Sumerian Records imprint 1336 Records. This announcement comes alongside the release of the band’s second single, “Radiance,” which is available on all major streaming platforms, accompanied by a visually stunning music video. Stream “Radiance” here, and watch the official music video below. Pre-order the debut album here.
In addition to Odadjian, Seven Hours After Violet features Taylor Barber (Left to Suffer), Morgoth (platinum-selling producer and guitarist of Winds of Plague), Alejandro Aranda (Scarypoolparty, American Idol) and Josh Johnson (Winds of Plague). The band released its debut single, “Paradise,” in June.
“This album is the culmination of years of creative exploration,” Odadjian said. “With Seven Hours After Violet, I wanted to return to my roots in heavy music but also bring something entirely new to the table. ‘Radiance’ and its precursor, ‘Paradise,’ are but a small glimpse of the intensity, musical diversity and emotion that run through this album. We can’t wait for everyone to hear it in full and to bring these songs to life on stage at our first live performance at Mayhem Fest.”
Seven Hours After Violet will make its live debut at this year’s recently announced Mayhem Fest, taking place at the Glen Helen Amphitheatre in San Bernardino, California, on Oct. 12. Mayhem Fest, which has been dormant since 2015, is returning this year as a one-day event featuring Bad Omens, Parkway Drive, Architects and more.
