Spencer Charnas hints new Ice Nine Kills album coming in early 2026

In a Thursday, May 1, post on X, Ice Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas hinted that the band will release new a new single this summer and a new album in early 2026.

“Just to clarify,” Charnas posted, “we have not been working on any new ice nine kills music over the last few years, there is NOT a new single dropping this Summer and we are not releasing a new INK album early 2026.”

On April 5, Charnas confirmed in an Instagram video that Ice Nine Kills was working on its seventh full-length studio album.

“For all those of you who have been asking, we are working on the new Ice Nine Kills record right now,” he said. “So be patient and shut the fuck up. Love you, guys.”

In interviews over the past couple years, Charnas has hinted strongly that the band’s next album will be “The Silver Scream 3,” though there has been no official confirmation of that. The songs on Ice Nine Kills’ “Silver Scream” albums are inspired by different horror movies, including “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” “Friday the 13th,” “Halloween,” “It,” “American Psycho,” “The Evil Dead” and “Candyman.” “The Silver Scream” was released in 2018, and “The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood” followed in 2021.

Ice Nine Kills released the new song “Meat & Greet,” inspired by “The Silence of the Lambs,” in October 2023 on a deluxe edition of “Welcome to Horrorwood,” a cover of the 1980s Katrina and the Waves hit “Walking on Sunshine” in July 2024 as part of the “American Psycho” comic book soundtrack and “A Work of Art,” included in the movie “Terrifier 3,” in October 2024.

Ice Nine Kills is back on tour now, playing stadium shows supporting Metallica, two-night Silver Scream-A-Thon headline shows (featuring “The Silver Scream” in its entirety on night one and “The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood” in its entirety on night two) and three special “pick your poison” shows for which fans helped to pick the set list via an online poll. The Silver Scream-A-Thon shows will feature opening acts The Word Alive, The Funeral Portrait and Melrose Avenue on night one and Hail the Sun, TX2 and Dark Divine on night two.

A fall 2025 European headline tour with support from The Devil Wears Prada and Creeper also was announced recently.
