Guitarist Doc Coyle, who announced his departure from Bad Wolves in early April 2025, will fill in with Snot at the band’s upcoming reunion shows following the exit of Sonny Mayo.
“I’m gonna be filling in for my buddies in Snot this summer,” Coyle said on social media. “Much love to my bro Sonny Mayo for thinking of me to attempt to fill his very big shoes. It’s been a blast learning these classic tunes, and I hope to see you all out there.”
Coyle and Bad Wolves bassist Kyle Konkiel, each of whom had been in the band since 2017, announced their departures on April 2. Guitarist Chris Cain, who was a member of Bad Wolves from 2017 to 2022, and bassist Kevin Creekman have stepped in as their replacements. Coyle also is a member of God Forbid, which reunited in 2022 and has continued to play live shows since then.
Snot, a prominent part of the late ’90s nu metal scene until the death of vocalist Lynn Strait in 1998, had been inactive for 10 years before announcing its return in late 2024. Early in 2025, the band introduced Andy Knapp of Stronger Than Machines as its new singer.
In a video posted Thursday, April 24, to Snot’s social media channels, guitarist Mikey Doling said: “Sonny Mayo has decided to quit Snot. Snot doesn’t fit into his life right now, and he just wants to focus on himself and his life, and Snot‘s just too busy for him to be able to continue. So I’d like to wish Sonny Mayo the best of luck in his future. And I want to thank him for all he’s contributed to Snot over the years. We love you, brother.”
