First Jason, the horror metal band fronted by “Friday the 13th” icon Ari Lehman, has signed with CDN Records, marking a new chapter in its rise through the heavy music underground. Known for his role as the original Jason Voorhees, Lehman now channels that same menacing energy into every performance—but now with a keytar slashing through the mix like a machete.
Formed in 2004, First Jason has toured across the U.S., U.K., and Europe, building a devoted following through electrifying live shows, a relentless DIY ethic and genre-defying songwriting. Its blend of horror-themed theatrics, jazz-trained musicianship, punk attitude and world music influences sets the band apart in a crowded metal landscape.

Lehman, a classically trained pianist and NYU alum with a background in jazz, reggae and Afrobeat, has carved out a sound all his own. First Jason has played in support slots for major acts such as Ice Nine Kills, Avatar, In This Moment, Incantation and Twiztid.
