Sun Don’t Shine, featuring members of Type O Negative and Crowbar, to release debut album in early 2026

Sun Don’t Shine, the new band featuring members of Type O Negative and Crowbar, will release its debut album, “Birth to Death,” in early 2026 via Corpse Paint Records. The band also has shared the new single “In the End.”

“Birth to Death” is available for pre-order via Corpse Paint Records, with vinyl pre-orders coming soon.

Sun Don’t Shine, formerly known as Eye Am, features vocalist/guitarist Kenny Hickey (Type O Negative, Silvertomb), guitarist Kirk Windstein (Crowbar, Down), drummer Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Silvertomb) and bassist Todd Strange (Crowbar, Down).

“‘In the End’ was one of those melodies that stayed with me from the moment it was written. I found myself humming it constantly,” Corpse Paint Records founder Andrew Spaulding said. “It carried a different weight—slower, more reflective—but the lyrics cut deep in a way that immediately made me think about the people we’ve lost along the way. For us, that includes giants who shaped this band’s very DNA: Peter Steele, Dimebag Darrell and, most recently, Ace Frehley.”

Windstein said: “’In The End’ is a great example of what we want Sun Don’t Shine to sound like. It’s got dynamics, melody and a bit of heaviness to it.”
