Epicenter to replace Carolina Rebellion, lineup to be announced Dec. 10

The lineup for the new Epicenter festival will be announced at 9 a.m. ET Monday, Dec. 10. The festival will be held May 10 to 12, 2019, in Rockingham, North Carolina, and is the replacement for Carolina Rebellion, which has staked out the first weekend of May since 2011.

Charlotte, North Carolina, hosted the festival in its first year and since 2013. Rockingham was the festival site in 2012.

In September, festival promoter Danny Wimmer of Danny Wimmer Presents said the move back to Rockingham “will allow us to go all night in a more European-style setting.”

Since the relocation/rebranding announcement, many fans have voiced their displeasure with the move on social media and here at Live Metal, citing a lack of hotels and restaurants in the area. Promoters have remained silent since then, but the newly launched Epicenter website has confirmed the name and revealed the time of the lineup announcement.

We’ll have the full Epicenter lineup and details here as soon as they are available.

The lineup for the new Sonic Temple Music + Art Festival—replacing Rock on the Range on May 17 to 19 in Columbus, Ohio, and also put on by DWP—features headliners Foo Fighters, System of a Down and Disturbed, plus co-headliners Bring Me the Horizon, The Prodigy and Ghost, and many more.
