Sonic Temple announces visual art lineup

Original art exhibitions, enhanced onsite experiences and expanded food and beverage offerings have been revealed for the first-ever Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival, set for Friday, May 17, Saturday, May 18, and Sunday, May 19, at Mapfre Stadium in Columbus, Ohio,

The festival, produced by Danny Wimmer Presents, will include performances from Foo Fighters, System of a Down and Disturbed among a diverse lineup that also features Papa Roach, Bring Me the Horizon, Ghost, Lamb of God, Halestorm, Chevelle, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, and The Cult, as well as Andrew Dice Clay, Henry Rollins and Pauly Shore and more in the SiriusXM Comedy & Spoken Word Tent.

In addition to the music, Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival will bring together some of the best visual artists around for an immersive experience like never before at a Danny Wimmer Presents festival. Headlined by legendary street artist RISK, the visual art components will allow attendees to come face to face with art installations, live mural painting and live screen-printing across the entire festival grounds, as well as additional activities inside the festival’s Art Tent.

The weekend will provide the opportunity to meet artists onsite and take home new favorite pieces, including ceramics, prints and jewelry. There also will be a specially curated group of poster artists from the Columbus area, as well as across the country, displaying and selling one-off live performance posters and multi-day festival posters. The initial list of featured artists includes Kelly Graval, the multi-talented fine artist, illustrator and graffiti artist known as RISK, who will be curating an interactive art exhibit to be displayed on site. The exhibit will showcase multiple live demonstrations by RISK. RISK has been synonymous with the Los Angeles art community for three decades. From his days pioneering the painting of freeway overpasses to studying at the USC School of Fine Arts, and from his “Third Rail” series and clothing line to gallery and museum shows around the world, RISK has solidified his place in the history books as a graffiti legend and a rising star in the contemporary art world.
