The Black Dahlia Murder vocalist Trevor Strnad has died

Trevor Strnad, vocalist of American death metal band The Black Dahlia Murder, has died, the band confirmed Wednesday, May 11, 2022, on social media. He was 41.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Trevor Scott Strnad,” the band posted. “Beloved son, brother, and Shepard of good times, he was loved by all that met him. A walking encyclopedia of all things music. He was a hugger, a writer, and truly one of the world’s greatest entertainers. His lyrics provided the world with stories and spells and horror and whimsy. It was his life to be your show.”

The band also included the phone number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (800-273-8255).

The Black Dahlia Murder, which formed in 2001, released its most recent album, “Verminous,” its ninth record, in 2020 and had a European tour scheduled for August 2022. All but the band’s first album charted on the Billboard 200, with the 2011’s “Ritual” scoring the highest at number 31.

The Black Dahlia Murder toured consistently throughout the past two decades, most notably as part of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival in 2009, Warped Tour in 2013 and headlining the Summer Slaughter Tour in 2008 and 2017.
