We’re Wolves has released a live video for its newest single, “Life of a Parasite.” The video was shot on location at Kraken Music Fest in Orlando, Florida, where We’re Wolves performed alongside The Used, Story of the Year and more. It features exclusive footage from backstage, on stage, at the band’s meet-and-greet and in secret locations hidden in the venue.
The track comes from We’re Wolves’ full-length concept album “Evil Things” (review), which features guest spots from Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, Bryan Kuznitz of Fame on Fire and Rain Paris. Although the song itself has a more aggressive message, the video is a dedication to the band’s loyal fanbase and a celebration of its live shows.
“’Life of a Parasite’ is a song about disloyal and dishonest people with hidden agendas who mask themselves as your friend,” vocalist AJ Diaferio said. “It’s an anthem of caution for those out there who give too much of themselves to their relationships. A sonic backbone for people unable to stand up for themselves, and a massive fuckk you to the people I thought were my friends.
“This video is dedicated to the people who represent the exact opposite of the song’s meaning. Our loyal,
loving and super supportive fanbase. It was shot on location at Kraken Music Fest and it highlights what’s
most important to us … the fans and giving them a show they can be proud of. Without them and their
support, we are NOTHING.”
We’re Wolves is a dark-humored, horror-loving blend of metal subgenres and hard rock. Based on Dante’s “Divine Comedy,” “Evil Things” takes the listener on a sonic and lyrical journey through the underworld of hell.
We’re Wolves first burst on to the music scene with a cover of Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff,” which garnered a huge response for the band, with over 1.6 million views on YouTube and 675,000 streams on Spotify. The debut single, “Dissonance,” from the EP “The Hunger,” reached over 400,000 streams landing the band on the Spotify editorial “New Core” playlist. The band has continued to please fans of metal and horror alike with its cover of “Bodies” by Drowning Pool being featured on Spotify’s “Metal Covers” playlist, while its cover of Disturbed’s “Down with the Sickness” has been revered by the original band itself . Answering the call for new original music and covers alike, We’re Wolves released “Evil Things” in October 2021.
