Lucifer, Coven set North American tour

Occult rock bands Coven and Lucifer will team up for the Satanic Panic Tour 2023, with special guests Early Moods.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. local time Friday, Sept. 1.

Lucifer, a multinational band formed in 2014 after the end of frontwoman Johanna Sadonis’s previous band The Oath, has been in the studio working on its fifth album, “Lucifer V,” which will be released via Nuclear Blast Records. Century Media Records issued the band’s first four albums, the most recent of which, “Lucifer IV,” was released in 2021.

Coven originally formed in the late 1960s in Chicago, Illinois, and had a top 40 hit in 1971 with the song “One Tin Soldier” from the movie “Billy Jack.” The band released three albums–“Witchcraft Destroys Minds & Reaps Souls” (1969), “Coven” (1971) and “Blood on the Snow” (1974)–followed by the compilation “Metal Goth Queen: Out of the Vault 1976–2007” in 2008 and an album of new recordings, “Jinx,” in 2013. Vocalist Jinx Dawson recruited a new lineup of musicians in 2016.

Early Moods, a doom metal band from Los Angeles, California, released its self-titled debut full-length in 2022.
