Sister duo The Pretty Wild shares new song ‘Button Eyes’

The Pretty Wild, described as playing “metaphysical metalcore,” has unleashed the new song “Button Eyes,” with an official music video to come, via its new label home, Sumerian Records.

The sister duo previously released “sLeepwALkeR,” which has surpassed 5.6 million Spotify streams and totaled 381,000 views on YouTube to date. Most recently, The Pretty Wild joined forces with Kittie and Diamante to cover the Metallica classic “The Unforgiven” on the official movie soundtrack for “Queen of the Ring, available here on all streaming platforms.

Discussing “Button Eyes,” Jules of The Pretty Wild said: “This song is for anyone who’s ever felt objectified, used or controlled. It’s about the moment you consciously break free from manipulation and you sever ties with that toxicity for good. We used dolls as a vessel for this theme, mostly as a way to blend playful melodies and imagery in a way that lightens a heavy conversation topic.”

Jyl said: “‘Button Eyes’ explores the theme of disillusionment with life and the process of reclaiming personal power. The song cheekily pokes at the painful process of breaking free from the misleading beliefs that held us back and stepping into our truth. Essentially empowering ourselves by rejecting disempowering narratives that were imposed upon us. Personally, I love this one because it comes across fun, poppy and superficial, but the irony in it, is that it’s the juxtaposition of all that at its core.”
