Possessed to replace Deicide on Exodus’s spring 2025 headline tour

American death metal band Possessed will replace Deicide on Exodus’s Swarm of Horror spring 2025 U.S. headline tour.

The tour, also featuring Misfire, will kick off April 27 in Phoenix, Arizona. Deicide dropped off the package due to scheduling conflicts, according to a statement from the band.

Possessed, cited by many as the first death metal band, originally formed in 1982 in the San Francisco Bay Area and has been active from 1982 to 1987, 1990 to 1992 and 2007 to the present. During that time, the band has released only three studio album, the most recent of which, “Revelations of Oblivion,” came in 2019 via Nuclear Blast Records. Vocalist Jeff Becerra is the only remaining original member of the group.
