Deadlands to release EP ‘Seven’ on June 27, shares ‘Limbo’ video

New York band Deadlands will release its new EP, “Seven,” on June 27, 2025, via Spinefarm Records. Each song on the recording correlates to one of the seven deadly sins, with the new single “Limbo” focusing on lust. Watch the video for “Limbo” below.

“‘Seven” explores the seven deadly sins, intricately woven into the fabric of a metalcore soundscape that resonates,” frontwoman Kasey Karlsen said. “Each track serves as a chilling personification of these ancient vices, inviting listeners into a world steeped in despair and moral decay. The goal is to hold a mirror to ourselves and deconstruct the things that breed evil in the soul.”

Regarding the single, Karlsen said: “‘Limbo’ describes the story of falling in love with someone who is purely using you to satisfy their own desires. The purpose of this song is to focus on the destructive aspects of lust and how it can not only hurt someone else but also lead to self-destruction whether you’re the one with the feelings or not. We’ve all had the experience of wanting to hold onto something that feels so right, even when you know it could end badly.”

“Seven” track listing:

Villain
“Die in Paradise”
“MORE!”
“Limbo”
Kundalini” (with The Pretty Wild)
“Wither”
“House of Cards”

Karlsen is used to laying her cards face up on the table, as she has been writing about her toxic relationships, friendships, hardships and current events since she was in high school. She also has over a million followers across platforms. CJ Arey, professionally known as “No Shade,” creates melodies for the guitar and bass while simultaneously inputting his own flare of trap and cinematic references into the production of the music. In 2024, Deadlands headlined shows across the United States while making stops to perform at Louder Than Life, Aftershock and the Blue Ridge Rock Festival.
