Metalcore band Dying Oath releases new EP ‘Hiraeth’

Virginia-based metalcore act Dying Oath has release its new EP, “Hiraeth.” Watch the video for the song “Burn” below.

Titled after a Welsh term that conveys a deep yearning for something lost or unreachable, Hiraeth is a soundtrack of grief, redemption and unwavering defiance.

“This record is a reflection of everything we’ve endured—from personal battles to rebuilding ourselves creatively,” lead guitarist and founding member Josh Hagee said. “Hiraeth is about fighting through the fire and finding a piece of yourself on the other side.”

The 13-minute EP was produced by Jamie King (Between the Buried and Me, The Contortionist). Stream “Hiraeth” here.

Rooted in the traditions of early 2000s metalcore and shaped by modern metal influences, Dying Oath has forged a sound reminiscent of In Flames, Kittie and Bullet for My Valentine—a sound that has earned the band festival slots at Louder Than Life, Blue Ridge Rock Festival and the Gathering of the Juggalos.
