Visionary Swedish metal band Avatar has dropped the new single and video “In the Airwaves.” Steam it here at midnight ET Friday, July 18, 2025.
“Avatar is defined by the challenges we put in front of ourselves,” the band said. “We always push for more and look for new angles. In this ever-ongoing pursuit for the next great thing, we return to one of the most important aspects of metal: speed.”

“In the Airwaves” follows recent single “Captain Goat.”
Avatar will spend the foreseeable future (if not forever) on the road—with tours supporting Iron Maiden and Metallica, along with the band’s biggest show ever in Mexico City.
