Teen metal band Chained Saint drops ‘Live at the Whisky a Go Go’ EP

Teen metal band Chained Saint has released its “Live at the Whisky a Go Go” EP, which captures its Aug. 15, 2025, performance at the legendary Los Angeles venue. It was the band’s second appearance there.

“We love playing in Los Angeles and love playing at the Whisky a Go Go,” the band said. “Besides being an iconic venue, it’s intimate, and the energy is great. And there’s nothing like playing in front of a packed house. We talked about releasing a live EP between the ‘Blindside’ album and the new music we’re releasing early next year. The August 15 show at the Whisky provided the perfect opportunity to show what it’s like to see us live. We were also able to capture the set on video, for all of the people who haven’t had the opportunity to see us live yet.”

“Live at the Whisky a Go Go” track listing:

“Free Reign”
“1000 Tons”
“Dark Side of the Cross”
“Stronger Than Stone (Blindside)”
“Animosity”

Born in a South Florida garage in summer 2022, Chained Saint’s debut album, “Blindside,” released in August 2024 via independent label Patriark Records, combines the riffery of old-school ’80s thrash metal with a dash of modern-day brutality. William DuVall of Alice in Chains produced the album.

RevolverGuitar World, Loudwire, Metal Injection, Miami New Times and Judas Priest legend Rob Halford have praised the band for its chops; SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal added the band to its playlist; and the debut single “Animosity” served as the theme song for the WWE 2K24 DLC 4 trailer. Ahead of its first tour in summer 2025, Chained Saint shared the new single “1000 Tons.”

Chained Saint also appeared at several festivals throughout 2025, including Welcome to Rockville, Rocklahoma, Louder Than Life and VANS Warped Tour. Weather caused its Louder Than Life setto be canceled, but Slaughter to Prevail invited vocalist Sean Sterling on stage to perform with them in a moment that later went viral.
