Dark Divine has released its first ever cover. The metalcore band’s version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Rhiannon,” out via Thriller Records, is streaming everywhere, and a visualizer can be seen below.
“This cover was a desire that I had kept in my back pocket for almost as long as the band has existed,” vocalist Anthony Martinez said. “It was a personal creative endeavor that I had been waiting for the right moment to attempt. The meaning of the original song being about a person taken over by a truly free spirit was something that resonated deep within. The feeling that I get while performing and existing as this larger than life character on stage is my Rhiannon. The overwhelming feeling of connection with an audience is almost supernatural and I believe Stevie Nicks perfectly encapsulates that sensation in the lyrics of this song.
“If we were going to do a cover for the first time, it had to be a cover that not only held some thematic and personal meaning, but had to be something transformative. I didn’t want to just recreate a substitute of a song I felt so passionate about. I wanted this cover to be a means of expressing this band’s energy and what our sound has become. Adding the synth elements and varying guitar tones made the creation of this song feel like more of a composition, than just a metalcore cover. We are super excited to begin this Halloween season with a cover that has become synonymous with witchcraft and a love for feeling truly set free.”
Dark Divine, which released its second full-length, “Undead Melody,” earlier in 2026, will hit the road soon to play headline dates with Fire from the Gods and Outlier; support Motionless in White in the United States; support Bullet for My Valentine on a 2027 European tour; and support From Ashes to New on a 2027 North American tour.
