The biggest story of Halloween 2018 wasn’t the scariest costume, the big thing at the box office or the surprising number of beers that your body actually can consume—in our world it was Slipknot releasing a new song and video called “All Out Life.” The ferocious cut is expected to appear on the band’s upcoming 2019 album via Roadrunner Records and is the band’s first since 2014’s “.5: The Gray Chapter.” Watch and listen below. And Happy Halloween!
Corey Taylor sat down today with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1 to debut the track, which he says, represents his desire for fans to embrace the “now” of music rather than always focusing on what’s next. “Everybody talks about toxic masculinity and toxic fandom these days,” he says. “For me, it’s more about this toxic idea that unless something came out 10 minutes ago, it’s not any good, and that bothers me. It’s like, I love new music, but at the same time, don’t turn your back on the music that’s been … [The song is] a rallying cry for everyone. It’s about all of us getting together and saying, ‘You know what. Let’s not talk about old. Let’s not talk about new. Let’s talk about what is. Let’s talk about what’s good, what’s real, and get behind that and start embracing things that matter because there’s history there and not just because it’s the next best thing.'”
