Since launching a new partnership with Twitch on June 3, 2021, independent festival promoter and producer Danny Wimmer Presents garnered an audience of nearly 400,000 fans worldwide in the first week of DWPresents’ original programming.
The DWPresents channel debuted with a live kickoff event on June 3, featuring several hours of entertainment, including performances from Widow 7 and Speed of Light, the two finalists in the “Road to LA” competition on “That Space Zebra Show.” In a surprise twist, both acts were given the grand prize—a demo deal with Alchemy Recordings, presented by Danny Wimmer.
The live broadcast also included the first-ever acoustic performance from Atreyu, as well as awarding one lucky fan with a trip for two on the inaugural Voragos: Destination Lunasea Beach private island festival and five-day rock cruise taking place in February 2022. In addition, dozens of DWP festival passes were given away, with more to come.\

Other highlights in the first week included “That Space Zebra Show,” hosted by Bobby Schubenski (Blackcraft founder), Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit) and Josh Balz (Strange Kids, ex-Motionless in White); the debut of “Starving Artists,” which raised over $1,000 for unsigned artists and saw Timmy Thomas win a “instant” demo deal with Alchemy Recordings; and “Riff Wars,” in which two fans faced off to guitar battle Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland.
The channel also premiered Battle for the Big Stage: Road to Rockville Edition, with more than 300 bands already submitting to win a slot at the 2021 Welcome to Rockville festival, set for Nov. 11 to 14.
“The Writer’s Circle” hosted by Fever 333’s Jason Aalon Butler premiered with special guest Mark Vollelunga of Nothing More, as the two answered questions about how their favorite songs take shape, and then together with input from the chat, wrote an exclusive new track. The week capped off with the launch of “The Lab,” hosted by TikTok sensation and musician Jeris Johnson and SiriusXM’s Caity Babs. Fans got to interact with Jeris Johnson as he performed the hit single “Miss the Rage” by Trippie Redd and Playboi Carti.
“That Space Zebra Show” host, Blackcraft Clothing founder and DWPresents channel Executive Producer Bobby Schubenski said: “This week was Twitch history. Hundreds of thousands of fans watched and chatted live as three artists won demo deals, two artists raised money to support their craft and two guitarists battled against Limp Bizkit’s Wes Borland. We had over 58,000 chat comments in our first week of broadcasting and watched as Fever 333’s Jason Butler, TikTok superstar Jeris Johnson and SiriusXM’s Caity Babs all just exploded onto the Twitch scene. I can’t wait for next week!”
DWP’s CEO Danny Hayes said: “It’s not a bad week when your wildest expectations are exceeded 10-fold. We are so honored by the immediate and extensive fan participation on our Twitch channel and feel we have only scratched the surface of this platform’s capabilities. Thank you Twitch for this amazing opportunity.”
