Cannibal Corpse frontman George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher joins Dee Snider on the new song “Time to Choose,” the second single from Snider’s upcoming fifth solo album, “Leave a Scar” (July 30, 2021, Napalm Records; pre-order here).
“‘Time to Choose’ deals with a subject I’ve addressed often over the course of my writing career: good vs. evil (see ‘Burn in Hell’),” Snider said. “Given the heaviness of this track, I felt adding George ‘Corpsegrinder’ Fisher’s voice to this would drive home the seriousness of the choices we make. I was honored when he agreed to contribute his incredibly powerful voice.”
“Time to Choose” follows the first single from the new album, “I Gotta Rock (Again),” which went straight into SiriusXM Liquid Metal’s “Devil’s Dozen” upon its release.
“Leave a Scar” reunites Snider with Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta, who produced Snider’s 2018 album “For the Love of Metal” (read Live Metal’s review), with co-production, mixing and mastering by drummer Nick Bellmore. The new record continues the heavy, modern metal sound of “For the Love of Metal.”
“By the end of 2020,” Snider said, ‘I knew I not only had to get back into the studio, but for the first time since the ’90s, I wanted–no, needed–to be a part of the writing process. I reached out to my producer Jamey Jasta and told him I was ready to make another record. ‘Leave a Scar’ is filled with messages to and for the silent voices in the world who need someone to speak out on their behalf. This is my purpose.”
