Volbeat has parted ways with lead guitarist Rob Caggiano after 10 years, the band announced Monday, June 5, 2023. Flemming C. Lund of the Danish thrash/death metal band The Arcane Order will join the band for its 2023 shows. No reason was given for the lineup change, though it appears to be on good terms.

“After ten incredible years we must sadly announce that Volbeat and Rob Caggiano have parted ways,” the band said in a statement released to social media. “During our time together we’ve traveled the world sharing great experiences and released four albums that we are immensely proud of, and we wouldn’t change a moment of it.
“We wish our brother Rob all the best with everything he does in the future (we know it’s going to be great)!
“Filling those shoes on stage will be a herculean task, but our good friend Flemming C. Lund (The Arcane Order) will be jumping in to handle lead guitar on our 2023 shows.
“Thank you to all of our incredible fans for their support, and more importantly, thank you to Rob for ten amazing years.”
Volbeat’s lineup also includes vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Michael Poulsen, drummer Jon Larsen and bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen. Volbeat released its latest album, “Servant of the Mind,” in December 2021.
Caggiano began working Volbeat as a co-producer on its 2013 album “Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies” and ultimately joined the band before the record was released. Prior to that, he was a member of Anthrax from 2001 to 2005 and 2007 to 2013.
Volbeat has a number of European festival appearances scheduled for this summer, along with a North American tour in July and August.
