Power Trip, with Fugitive’s Seth Gilmore on vocals, to play No Values festival

Crossover thrash band Power Trip will return to the stage on June 8, 2024, at the No Values festival in Pomona, California.

Power Trip’s last official live show occurred in early 2020. Vocalist Riley Gale died on Aug. 24, 2020, at the age of 34, and the band had been inactive until Dec. 1, 2023, when it performed a surprise set in Austin, Texas. Seth Gilmore of Fugitive and Skourge assumed vocal duties for that performance and will do so again at this year’s shows.

The lineup for No Values includes The Original Misfits, Social Distortion, Iggy Pop, Turnstile, Bad Religion, Sublime, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicidal Tendencies, Black Flag and more. (The Dillinger Escape Plan, which broke up in 2017, announced late last year that it would reunite for a few shows with original vocalist Dimitri Minakakis to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its debut album, “Calculating Infinity.”) Find all the festival details here.

The four surviving members of Power Trip—guitarists Blake Ibanez and Nick Stewart, bassist Chris Whetzel and drummer Chris Ulsh—released the following statement to social media:

“Nearly four years ago to the day, unbeknownst to us, we would perform for the last time as Power Trip.

“It has been a difficult road since then, marked by deep pain, grief, and everything else that came with losing our brother Riley.”It has been a difficult road since then, marked by deep pain, grief, and everything else that came with losing our brother Riley.

RILEY GALE

“We know this can’t be undone, and it will always remain part of us. We have thought deeply about the future of Power Trip and what always comes back to us is that this band was founded on resilience, perseverance, and most importantly: a love for the music and for all of the people it has brought us closer to along the way.

“We’ll never have the words to convey our appreciation of the enduring support we’ve received over the years, and we feel as though the time is right to get back on stage for all of you who’ve been there throughout our existence as a band.

“With that, we are excited to announce a round of upcoming 2024 performances starting with No Values on June 8th in SoCal.

“Joining us will be our long-time close friend/collaborator, and singer of Fugitive/Skourge—Seth Gilmore—who will be handling vocals for these upcoming shows.

“Stay tuned, more info on the way…

“Riley Gale Forever.

“See you in the pit.”
