New England deathcore band Shadow of Intent has shared the new single and video “Feeding the Meatgrinder,” the first taste of its upcoming album “Imperium Delirium,” set for release on June 27, 2025, via Blood Blast Distribution. Pre-order/pre-save the album here.
Featuring a guest vocal from death metal legend Corpsegrinder (Cannibal Corpse), “Feeding the Meatgrinder” is an unrelenting descent into sonic carnage. Lyrically, it paints a brutal anti-imperialist and anti-war narrative, describing the dehumanization and destruction of mass conflict in harrowing detail—its chorus a nihilistic refrain: “Continue to bleed or feed—you’re feeding the meatgrinder.” Find the new track on streaming platforms here, and watch the official music video below.
Lyrically and thematically, “Imperium Delirium” continues Shadow of Intent’s descent into the real-world horrors that define our past and foreshadow our future. From mythic allegory to modern bloodshed, the band’s subject matter confronts the sickness of empires, the seduction of violence and the machinery of death that fuels it all.
Since its formation in 2014, Shadow of Intent has garnered a reputation for crafting technical, prog-tinged, symphonic deathcore. Widely acknowledged as one of the forerunners of the current deathcore renaissance, the band’s debut album “Primordial” was named as one of Revolver Magazine‘s “15 Essential Deathcore Albums,” with Metal Sucks giving its 2019 album “Melancholy” a perfect 5/5 review, stating “you can expect Shadow of Intent to send echoes across metal for as long as they feel like making music.” To date, the band has totaled 200 million streams and 62 million YouTube Views, and has 340,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
