Doom metal icon Scott “Wino” Weinrich—the voice of The Obsessed, Spirit Caravan and Saint Vitus—has shared “Anhedonia,” the new single from his fourth solo album, “Create or Die” (Oct. 24, 2025, Ripple Music; pre-order it here).
On the new album, Weinrich plugs in and turns up the heat. “Create or Die” trades the stark acoustics of 2020’s “Forever Gone” for a mix of hard rock thunder and folk rebellion. What began as an intimate, unplugged journey soon demanded the pulse of drums and electric guitars, all provided through contributions from his close sonic entourage.
“It is an accurate representation of how I feel and what I see in this time,” Weinrich said. “At first, it was going to be an acoustic record, but I quickly realized that these songs were screaming for drums and electric guitars.”
Weinrich delivers 10 personal, passionate commentaries on life delivered with his signature grit and soul, as a testament to the creed he’s lived by for over 40 years: Create or die.
“That simple slogan sums up my philosophy completely,” he said. “Whether it’s making music or art, that’s what I do. It’s what I live for.”
Weinrich previously released the singles “New Terms” and “Us or Them.”
