Saint Asonia, the band featuring Three Days Grace singer Adam Gontier and Staind guitarist Mike Mushok, has officially released its cover of the Black Sabbath classic “Paranoid.” Stream the song here, and watch the visualizer below.
“We actually recorded this cover of Sabbath years ago while we were recording the ‘Extrovert’ EP,” Gontier said.. “Obviously, it didn’t end up on the EP, and when we recently lost Ozzy, we all talked and decided now was the time to put it out there. It’s just our own little tribute to the band and the man who changed the landscape of heavy music forever and opened the door for bands like us. We love you Oz.”
Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025, just 17 days after his Back to the Beginning farewell concert in Birmingham, England. In addition to fronting Black Sabbath in the 1970s and reuniting multiple times over the years, he had a successful solo career starting in 1980. His final memoir, “Last Rites,” completed only days before his death, was published on Oct. 7, 2025.
Saint Asonia formed in 2015 following Gontier’s departure from Three Days Grace and while Staind was on hiatus. The band has released two full-length albums (“Saint Asonia,” 2015; and “Flawed Design,” 2019) and two EPs (“Introvert” and “Extrovert,” both 2022). Saint Asonia has been on hiatus since Gontier rejoined Three Days Grace in 2024.
