Silent Civilian, the metal band led by Spineshank vocalist Jonny Santos, will play a special show celebrating 20 years of its debut album, “Rebirth of the Temple,” on Dec. 3, 2026, at the Whisky in Hollywood, California. Tickets are available here. It will be the band’s first live performance in nearly 15 years.
Santos formed Silent Civilian after leaving Spineshank in 2004. The band released “Rebirth of the Temple” on May 2, 2006, through indie label Mediaskare. Along with Santos, the band’s lineup included drummer Chris Mora, who has been the drummer of Black Veil Brides since 2010 under the name Christian “CC” Coma.
Silent Civilian released its second album, “Ghost Stories,” in 2010, also via Mediaskare.
Following a long period of inactivity, Silent Civilian released the new songs “My Addiction” in December 2022 and “De La Muerte” in January 2023. At the time, it was said that the band’s long-awaited third album, titled “The Reckoning,” was tentatively set for a spring 2023 release. According to a press release, it was to include 16 songs, and it was produced, mixed and mastered by Santos and Kiel Bishoprick. It also was set to be the first album from Santos and Kiel’s Black Horse Entertainment production company. There has been no further word on the album since then.
Santos reunited with Spineshank in 2025, and the band has embarked on several tours since then, with the next run scheduled for October 2026 in Europe and the U.K.
In 2023, Santos and Spineshank drummer Tommy Decker launched a new project called The Less Dead, though details on that remain scarce.
