With a Vengeance, the new band featuring founding Bad Wolves members Tommy Vext and Chris Cain, has released its debut EP, “Born to Survive.”
In addition to Vext on vocals and Cain on guitar, With a Vengeance features guitarist Xander Raymond Charles, bassist Kevin Creekman and drummer Austin D’Amond. The EP was produced by Matt Guglielmo (The Acacia Strain) with vocal production by Spencer Sotelo (Periphery). It includes a track (“Holy Ghost”) featuring guitar virtuoso Angel Vivaldi.
“’Born to Survive’ represents everything Chris Cain and I always believed Bad Wolves could have been but could never fully realize,” Vext said. “Reuniting with Kevin and joining forces with Austin and Xander has given us the freedom to create music rooted in brotherhood, mutual respect and the belief that human connection and artistic expression will always be greater than the differences that divide us.”
With a Vengeance released its debut single, “Shared Light,” in July 2026 and followed it with “Oblivion” in October. Lyrically, “Oblivion” turns toward mental health and the complicated relationship between patients and psychiatric medicine, raising questions around informed consent, responsible treatment and unintended consequences.
“’Oblivion’ is about questioning what happens when something intended to help starts creating consequences of its own,”’ Vext said. “It’s a serious subject, but we didn’t want to preach—we wanted to make a heavy, aggressive song with a massive chorus and let the video take the idea somewhere completely unhinged.”
The Michael Levine-directed video does exactly that. Joe Letz of Lindemann appears as an unhinged mad scientist who captures, tortures and biologically reengineers the members of With a Vengeance, landing somewhere between a midnight horror movie and a pharmaceutical commercial gone catastrophically off script.
