Blue Ridge Rock Festival moving to Virginia International Raceway in 2022

The Blue Ridge Rock Festival, plagued by a variety of issues in 2021, is moving to the Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia, for its 2022 edition. The sixth annual event will be held from Sept. 8 to 11.

On social media, festival organizers said the raceway “is over 3.5x the size of our 2021 Venue and is complete with expansive infrastructure, campgrounds, and personnel, providing Blue Ridge with a full-time, large-scale event venue for the first time ever.”

The festival will feature 169 artists performing on five stages over four days, along with a pre-party and three club experiences, according to organizers. Tickets are on sale now at BlueRidgeRockFest.com.

Unlike other festivals, the Blue Ridge Rock Festival customarily unveils its lineup over the course of several months. Festival organizers previously said many of the 2021 performers are slated to return in 2022. (The 2021 festival included headliners Rob Zombie, Shinedown, Five Finger Death and Breaking Benjamin, along with Limp Bizkit, Papa Roach, Falling in Reverse, Megadeth, Lamb of God, A Day to Remember, Halestorm and many more.)

Announcements for the 2022 lineup are expected to begin soon.
