Veteran Bay Area thrash metal band Testament will release remastered versions of its classic albums “The Legacy” and “The New Order” digitally and on vinyl on July 12, 2024, via Nuclear Blast Records.
“When ‘The Legacy’ and ‘The New Order’ were first recorded, we were new and had limited resources to record the albums being a young band,” vocalist Chuck Billy said. “Now, with the remastering, fans will hear the albums in their signature sonic onslaught they were intended to be heard.”
The band is offering fans previews of the remastered versions completed by Justin Shturtz at Sterling Sound via singles from each of the albums. “Over the Wall” from “The Legacy” and “Into the Pit” from “The New Order” are available to be streamed on all platforms, accompanied by video visualizers.
“The Legacy” will be available digitally and on 180G vinyl on red and white swirl with black splatter (limited to 1,500 worldwide). The release includes alternate cover artwork and gatefold packaging with new liner notes, as well as an oversized booklet with never-before-seen images. Pre-order/pre-save here.
